These notes detail the installation and upgrades for the Confluence application at MBARI. The original installation was done on our intranet and then it was eventually moved to the DMZ and made available to the rest of the world so our collaborators can work with it as well. We connected it to Atlassian's Crowd application so that we could manage external collaborator accounts without having to create internal NT Domain accounts.

Original Installation

  1. TODO kgomes - Need to document the installation of Confluence 2.7 (original installation)

Upgrade from 2.7 to Confluence 5

  1. I first upgraded our license on the current Confluence server by updating the license on the "My Atlassian" license site and then updating the license on our Confluence server.
  2. One thing to note is that the URLs that respond to https://oceana.mbari.org/confluence must still work on the new server.
